to Bella Vista Mountain Refuge in WINTER

Lage Come Arrivare Map Goldene Rose En (1)

How to reach the Senales Valley

Take the A22 Motorway and exit at Bolzano Sud. Get onto the MEBO highway towards Merano. Follow this road in the direction of the Passo di Resia. Approx. 15 km later, at the Naturno bypass, follow the signs towards Val Senales. After another 23 kilometers you’ll reach the end of the valley: the town is called Maso Corto in Italian, and Kurzras in German.

Important: The only way to reach Bella Vista is via cable car. There is no car access.

Arrive in Maso Corto (Kurzras), how to unload your baggage and park: Follow signage to the “Zur Schönen Aussicht” materials lift, open the barrier, change to winter clothes, and deposit the luggage under the sign “Anreise.” The luggage is picked up twice a day, at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Go back to the main carpark outside the barrier, and park there free of charge.

Tickets: At the Schnalser Gletscherbahnen valley station, tickets are available depending upon the type and duration of the planned stay.

  • Ski pass (tip: starting at 3 pm, the ascent is free of charge if you buy at least one day pass for the following day) or just an ascent and descent.
  • The Glacier Experience Card for pedestrians. This includes ascent and descent with the cable car as well as the Grawand and Gletschersee chairlifts. Current tickets and prices.

Cable Car from Maso Corto to Bella Vista Mountain Refuge

Take the cable car up to Grawand mountain station. When the weather is bad weather and the lift isn’t functioning, we can organize – to the extent possible and for a small extra charge – the trip to the refuge with the snow groomer.

Skiing or Snowboarding to the Refuge

From the mountain station, take the Grawand and Gletschersee runs, and you will reach the valley station of the Hintereislift. Take the lift up. Stay to the right side on the lower third of the run, and watch out for the “Zur Schönen Aussicht“ sign. The trail will take you directly to us.

Walking to the Hut

Pedestrians should take the Grawand chairlift downhill from the mountain station of the cable car. Please show your Glacier Experience Card here. It’s valid for the round trip (on departure) NOTE: Put on warm clothing, because the chairlift is very cold!

Continue with the next chairlift, the Gletschersee Sessellift, then walk for about 10 minutes along the edge of the run to the Hintereislift valley station.

From here you’ll do the last ascent on foot; it’s about 15-20 minutes (to the right of the Hintereislift valley station) to Bella Vista.
